Stand Up Against Substance Abuse Seaford, Delaware!

Sussex County Health Coalition is poised to launch a robust Drug Free Awareness Campaign beginning with the city of Seaford, Delaware. This "Seaford Goes Purple" campaign is in conjunction with the Chris Herren Project and will join forces with The City of Seaford, Delaware in this important initiative.

"Seaford is my hometown and it’s still very close to my heart. It’s been devastating for me to watch a community that’s been through so much grapple with the opioid epidemic, and it serves as a reminder of how much work we still need to do on addiction. I’m grateful for the work that the Sussex County Health Coalition is doing with Seaford Goes Purple, and for the lives that their advocacy will save." - Senator Stephanie Hansen, Seaford High School Class of ‘79

The THP Project Purple Initiative empowers youth to stand up and make a difference. Going Purple gives students motivation and support as they embrace a message of education and awareness. Students learn that they do not need drugs and alcohol to meet life’s challenges; that they are perfect the way they are.

“The Sussex County Health Coalition would like to thank Lucie Hughes from Tidewater Rotary and Sheriff Joe Gamble for their willingness to share in the success of Talbot Goes Purple so that collectively we can impact the whole of Delmarva.  We join them in this important awareness campaign to reduce the stigma of addiction and to spread the message of hope and healing.  To see what they are doing, visit:" —  Peggy Geisler, Executive Director, Sussex County Health Coalition
